About grateful plates

Grateful Plates began with a simple act of kindness. What started when Crystal Shockley decided to make and share a few Thanksgiving plates quickly blossomed into something much bigger. Through the generosity of countless donors and the dedication of volunteers, those few plates have grown into hundreds of turkey and ham dinners to be served!

Grateful Plates isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and part of a community that cares. Our story is one of gratitude in action, showing how compassion can turn a single good idea into a shared tradition of giving.
